Breast Augmentation Before & After Case 132

This 38-year-old female visited our Albany office to discuss breast augmentation. She felt that she was between an A-cup and a B-cup bra size and wished to fill out her clothes better. She is athletic and participates in many fitness activities and didn't want her breasts to interfere with this. However she did want to be larger and more proportionate.

Her beforehand photographs show a short distance from her nipples to her inframammary crease, with a fold beneath the breasts. This is something a surgeon needs to carefully consider during implant selection in order to obtain a natural-looking result. She also had a wide distance between her breasts with lack of cleavage. Using a 3-dimensional approach, she and Dr. Jeffrey Rockmore selected 325 cc saline implants, which he filled to 350 cc. The saline implants are overfilled slightly to minimize the chance of any rippling. During this procedure, Dr. Rockmore also corrected some asymmetry to help balance the sides. 

This patient got saline implants at this time because they were the only choice at the time of her procedure. Currently, women have a choice between a couple of types of silicone implants or saline implants, all of which are safe. This woman's saline implants would be expected to last for 10 to 15 years before rupturing. At that point they can easily be replaced. 

This woman was able to resume her fitness activities within 3 weeks of her surgery. She is quite happy with the size of her breasts and now wears a C-cup bra size. Her clothes fit better, especially when she is wearing athletic and training attire.
