Tubular Breasts Before & After Case 122
Before & After
Case Details
This young woman was never happy with the shape and appearance of her breasts. From her late teenage years, she always felt that her breasts were long and saggy and wished for them to be more natural looking. For this reason, she visited our Albany, New York, office to see what could be accomplished.
As you can see on her preoperative photos, her breasts have a combination of some sag, some asymmetry, and some characteristics of tubular breasts. This combination requires a combination of breast augmentation and breast lift performed in Albany at the same time to both enhance and reshape the breasts. Dr. Jeffrey Rockmore placed silicone implants to enhance her volume and provide a foundation to reshape the breasts upon. In order to treat the tubular characteristics of her breasts, he divided the constricted fascial ring to allow the breast tissue to unfurl and take on a more rounded shape. He then performed a breast lift through a circumvertical, or lollipop, incision. Although this type of lift does require some scars, it allows us to reduce the size of the areola and make them more proportionate to the remaining breast size. It also allows us to reshape the breasts and improve some of the asymmetry. As you can see on the postoperative photographs, these scars often fade quite nicely.
This type of procedure can be done as an outpatient surgery at our surgery center down the street from our office. Most patients are back to work within 5 to 7 days depending on their job requirements. This woman went home with a bra in place and was able to shower the following day. She was driving within 3 days and well on her road to recovery. She is no longer self-conscious about the appearance of her breasts and, most importantly, she feels better about herself.
